From the MS/HS Principal's Desk:
At the Bruce School, we provide a student-centered environment with dynamic educational opportunities in an ever-changing world. We strive to create a collaborative learning community focused on results promoting student success. With the team mentality that our students and staff have, I have no doubt that this year will be even more successful than other years.
It is wonderful to walk through the halls and hear the discussions and learning that is happening in each classroom. With sports in full swing, it has been wonderful to welcome back students, staff, family and community members to help cheer on our Raiders. I encourage you all to attend a game, the players are doing great and love to hear the crowd cheering them on.
This year staff is really focusing on closing the gaps with our students. We are doing this by using our intervention times to have specific staff meet with specific students on the standards that they have not yet met. All are doing great, so keep encouraging students to get homework done and ask for help when needed!
Senior parents, please have your students watch their school emails for information from Mrs. Tremblay about scholarships, financial aid for college, and information on cap and gowns. This is how we communicate with them about senior year. As always I have encouraged all of our seniors to finish strong, and they are doing just that!
Conferences will be done similar to last year. Middle school staff will be sending home a paper with your student that has grades, questions and information on how to contact each staff if you would like to set up a virtual conference. High school staff will be going over a long-range plan with your student and then contacting you (email/phone) to go over that plan with you. If you would like to have a meeting with a staff member, please contact them directly.
One goal we have is to ensure our students are ready for postsecondary success. We have increased the number of college courses, college certifications, and youth apprenticeship programs that we offer. Please take an opportunity to talk to your student, no matter the age, about their future, so we can help them be successful and better prepare them for their future.
The Bruce Middle and High School have many clubs, activities, and sports to offer. Please encourage your student to get involved. These activities give students different opportunities to get involved in the school and community which lead to life long learners and well-rounded graduates.
